Imperfect Concepts Boutique

If you know me, then you know more than anything else, I would much rather shop a Boutique.  Today’s featured reader, Tasha Robinson ,  is all about her boutique which features vintage high end resale items.  Need a pair of  Christian Louboutin’s or that Vintage high end piece of clothing, but just can’t afford to pay full retail?  Imperfect Concepts Boutique is where you need to be!!

I had the pleasure of chatting with Tasha about her love for shopping and her boutique.

Please give us a brief introduction about yourself.

Hi, my name is Tasha, and I am addicted to shopping. {laughs} It is kinda hard for me to do the brief introduction of myself; I always feel weird and awkward. Well, I am awkward all the time, hence my making jokes. {laughs} Where shall I begin?… I am a 25 year old Southern University graduated who resides in Dallas. Also, I am a military brat who was born overseas and has an older brother and little sister. Reading books is my favorite past time {not a television type of gal}. My best friends are amazing and I rock out to the beat of my own drum daily! Oh yeah I own a really cool boutique too, you might heard of; its called Imperfect Concepts.

How did the idea of Imperfect Concept Boutique manifest, what was your A-Ha! Moment?

My A-ha moment was when I was sitting at Baskin Robbins with my mom eating $1 scoop ice cream. I leaned over and told her I loathed my job, and I was going to start my own online clothing store. She politely said, “Are you going to eat the rest of your butter pecan,” and I laughed.  Later that day I polled my facebook friends and email a couple very close ones asking their opinion on a vintage online store. I had a conversation with one of my best friends and from then forth I have been doing what I wanted, running my own business!
Can you virtually walk us through Imperfect Concept Boutique, What do we see? What should we expect?

Being that Imperfect Concepts is an online boutique the first thing you see is our welcoming page and the top items I love in the store. They are a jump up from the basic staple items every woman needs in her closet! When you look to your left you see all the categories of merchandise we carry in the store. We have a large variety of merchandise for our customers to browse. At the top customers can click the “About Us” to get familiar with our origins, as well as find a little more information on me, the owner. Furthermore, on that page they can also connect with us on various social media networks, such as twitter, facebook, and tumblr. We also supply an area for customers to contact us with any concerns, questions, or to just drop a note to say hi. Finally we have a press page that highlights the features of the store. They can learn even more about us by reading the interviews. Now to the fun part… SHOPPING! A customer can click a particular item and it will redirect you to the page with more detail. On that page we try give as many angles of the images as possible. We also include details about the garment.

How are the brands picked for Imperfect Concept Boutique and how exclusive are the brands in the boutique? Is there any specific design you concentate on?

Imperfect Concepts is a resale boutique, so we actually do not focus on one particular designer or era of clothing. It truly is a random but logical process of selecting garments when out thrifting or estate shopping.

What is the price point?  How did you come up with this?

The price point range from $16-$350 dollars. So there is a price point for everyone’s wallet so they can stay in their budget. Imperfect Concepts is a place where individuals can shop and now their wallets will not be cringing after the credit card bill comes!
Who is your favorite fashion designer?  Do you have these designs available in Imperfect Concept Boutique?

My favorite designers are Gwen Stefani L.A.M.B, Yves Saint Laurent & Marc Jacobs. We have pieces of all three designers in the boutique, from vintage pieces to last season’s pieces.

Where do you see yourself and Imperfect Concept Boutique in 5-10 years?

Doing even more amazing things! I know in five years I will have a staff of at least three to diffuse all the work I put on myself. We will be in a great lofty space like the one Rachel Zoe’s has in LA, but we will be residing in the South. Imperfect Concepts will be receiving more press, which will afford me the opportunity to speak to young individuals about chasing after their dreams. As for other ventures I am really just focusing on making ICB a household name with a revenue that affords me the opportunity to hire an amazing staff who is as passionate as I am.

I’m not sure if you were aware of this, but I’m an aspiring clothing boutique owner.  It is a dream and goal of mine to open a boutique.  Would you give a brief process on how you got to this point? Anything that I or any other aspiring boutique owner should be aware of?

I have a no guts no glory type attitude when it comes to exceeding in all arenas of my life! I apply that principle to running my business. It is going to be all or nothing 24/7/365!  I believe in my dreams, and I don’t ask others to believe in them nor see the picture I am painting for my success story. People often fail when seeking other’s approval when it comes to matters of your own heart. Yes, I do seek advice from friends, but at the end of the day it is about what makes me happy and how I can go to sleep at the end of night feeling. I personally believe if a person wants to start their own boutique they need to do research heavily. Find that niche in the market that needs to be filled and maximize it to its full potential. Study your competitors and know what they are doing and how you can take their short comings and make it your winning points to drive their customers to you. Finally, do it because you love it and are a passionate about it. There are going to be low days and high days, but my highs outweigh my lows because I am passionate about my company, and that keeps pushing me to the next level.

Thanks so much Tasha for taking the time out of your busy schedule to chat with Charee Lenee’!  I personally have got my eye on this Vintage Emanuel Ungaro blouse.

Hurry and head on over to Imperfect Concepts Boutique to get your shopping fix.
