Hi loves. I hope ya’ll had a great weekend! My weekend was very chilled. Baby M had to get a small procedure done at Children’s Hospital last week. Even though the procedure wasn’t anything serious, as a Mommy, I was a wreck!!! Children’s Hospital was AWESOME and they made
the Hubs and I us feel so much at ease. The nurses were all so very nice. I mean they were just all so accomodating and so very very attentive to our needs, concerns, and questions. Anyway, Baby M is doing great and healing perfectly. What should have taken 10 days, has only taken less than a week. My baby is a CHAMP! lol

I wanted to wear comfortable shoes because I just wasn’t feeling up to wearing heels. I found these really cute boots at TJ Maxx while browsing. They are super comfy and stylish too. I love the detail, thats what sold me! I’m still rocking the Au Natural. I must say, I am really loving it guys. I am embracing my curls and I have stocked up on all kinds of products. So far, everything I have bought, has done my hair good. My newest purchase is Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. OMG, when I tell you I LOVE THIS STUFF… I mean it!!! I am going to do a video… I so want to share everything to all you other natural hair virgins. I am missing my straight hair so I think I will go ahead and make me a hair appt and wear my hair straight for a week or two. LOL LOLhere) |orange leather jacket – Nordstrom Rack (Similar here and here)|boots & bag- TJ Maxx
I am so ready for Thursday to get here. I usually go home to Ohio, but this year I am staying here in Atlanta. I’m cooking a BIG dinner. I’m not really a fan of Turkey so we just bought a fresh Turkey breast that the Hubs will fry. If you have never had a fried Turkey, you do not know what you are missing. I’m also making Greens, Mac&Cheese, Stuffing (yes, HOMEMADE), & Sweet Potatoes. I’m also making a Peach Cobbler and I bought a Sweet Potatoe pie. I’ve got skillz but I haven’t ventured to make a sweet potatoe pie just yet…maybe next year! hahaha I am ready to EAT EAT EAT!!!

What are your plans for the Holiday?
Hi loves! How has your week been going so far? It’s been going great for me. I am finally able to catch up on all my favorite blogs, I am so behind and still have a lot to catch up on. So the kids started back to school a few weeks ago. My daughter is a Senior this year… Woooo Hooo! That means Prom, Sr Pictures, Sr Dues, etc etc. She’s already been online searching for Prom dresses. LOL
Colored denim is still a huge trend as well as printed denim. I was on the hunt for leopard pants and finally came across a pair today online and orders those babies asap!!! This is going to be a quickie post because its almost time for me to nurse my guy.similar) & clutch – H&M | sequin tank (similar) – Express | khaki swing jacket (similar)- Thrifted | shoes – Sole Society | necklace – c/o Alibaba
I wore this outfit for a ladies night out with my mom and some other ladies from my mom’s congregation. It was fun and the food was so good. We all went to Bonefish restaurant. I never been, but was very happy with the menu choice, I ordered a special dish on the menu and it wasn’t really good but the chocolate brownie dessert I ordered, made up for it! I toned down the colored denim by going neutral on top. Unless you are going to do color-blocking, you should go neutral on pieces that you are pairing with the colored denim. Ok, baby is calling for mommy… gotta run.
Here is a quick photo of my guy… he was ready for bed while I was heading out. Isn’t he just tooo cute?!?!?! LOL
P.S. I’ve linked up with Everybody Everywear… Be sure to head over to check out the other Back To School looks!!!
Are you still rocking colored denim??
*waving* HELLOOOOOO loves!! I tell you, I am sooo happy to be back! I missed ya’ll so so much! As you can see, I’m no longer preggo!! I had a beautiful baby boy on June 24th and I have been devoting my life strictly to him. He’s such a JOY and is oh so cute… I just can’t stop stealing kisses from him. hahaha I’ll be sure to share pictures of his very soon. If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ve already seen my little man!
OK, so yesterday was Fashion’s Night Out. It was my first event since having my son. I had a ball. The BFF’s also known as Blog Fab Fashionistas, had an awesome event where they hopped from store to store at Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza. I didn’t make it to Lenox but arrived just in time to Phipps to hit up Lilly Pulitzer where they had a fabulous Pink Lemonade Mohito popsicles (yes it was non-alcoholic). Then we proceeded to Belk where we walked the red carpet and took tons of pictures and we ended our night at Twist where we all laughed, ate and just had a FUN Time.
I’m so glad I was able to attend and thanks to Nikka of Oh! Nikka for creating this awesome group. If you want more information about Blog Fab Fashionistas, head on over to her blog, Oh! Nikka or Blog Fab Fashionistas.
What did you do for Fashion’s Night Out?
Last week, I attended the Vitamin Water Inspired Fashion Show at Whiskey Blue. It was a bit crowded…well it was WAY crowded and barely room to even move. LOL I only was able to get a few shots from the show. I met up with Eboni, Jai, Adrienne and Breck. We probably stayed about an hour, long enough to get a glimpse of the show, mingle & get drinks! After the event we walked across the street to Maggiano’s for dinner.
Shoeper Shoe Challenge… #28…71 more to go
Let’s talk about the outfit…. The lace top I have had F.O.R.E.V.E.R. I don’t even remember when or where I bought it, that’s just how long I’ve had it. LOL The shorts I got from H&M last Winter. I wore them back in March here with tights. Now lets really talk about the SHOES!!!!!!!! These shoes are sooo FAB. The best part is the mini pink scull that dangles from the bow. I ordered them from Just Fab, and they are from the Iron Fist Collection (Just Fab calls it “fabulous with an edge“). They are the “INGRID’S”. The night of this event they were sitting at my front door just waiting for me to open. When I opened the box, it was instant love at first sight. LOL That’s when I just knew I was DEF wearing these babies to the event and the outfit I just sorta threw together around the shoes. hahahahha Ya’ll know I love fashion, I even adore clothes…but I CRAVE shoes!!
Here are the few shots that I was able to get from the Fashion Show….
Happy Tuesday lovelies!!! What an awesome weekend it was!! Did you all have a FAB weekend too? The Fashionable Atlanta Blogger Meetup was Saturday and it was a HUGE success. I met so many lovely ladies and it was so great to finally meet some of the FAB Bloggers that I’ve met through the blogosphere. Talk about a room full of women that live, think and breathe… ALL THINGS FASH!ON. I’ll talk more about it later, but be sure to head over to the FASHIONABLE ATLANTA Facebook page to view some of the pictures uploaded by many of the bloggers in attendance! I had so much fun in being apart of planning this FAB event!!
Now to the OUTFIT, I wore this outfit yesterday. It was actually nice throughout the morning, then the rain hit about 1:00pm and stopped just long enough for me to get these shots in. Before I was done, the sky became grey again and the rain started again. By the time I left the office, the sky was back cleared and the sun was shining its beautiful face again. BUT, then around 7pm, it POURED again and pretty much stayed that way all night. LOL I’m just happy the sky cleared up long enough for me to take these shots. LOL
I love this jumpsuit. I actually have had it a couple years, but it never gets old to me. I don’t even remember where I bought it. I think at a random flea market, but I just can’t remember. It’s so comfy and I love how I can dress it up AND wear it casual too. I love versatile clothing, if you haven’t realized that already. LOL
I thought this picture turned out so cool. I look like I’m glowing!!! LOL I guess the lighting and the way the sun was beaming on me, left this cool effect. Hubby says, my guardian angel was hovering over me!! **smiles**
Now lets get to the shoes… You ALL know how I feel about “Red Bottoms” aka Christian Louboutins. My motto is: Who says DIAMONDS are a girls best friend.. give me Louboutins!!!!! I love ‘em and I think every woman should splurge atleast ONCE just to have a pair in their closet. LOL LOL These are my only pair, but I will be getting another pair, SOON! hehehe HOPEFULLY, anyway! hahhaha
Have a Fabulous week lovelies!!! SMOOCHES!!!!
Don’t forget to head over to the FASHIONABLE ATLANTA Facebook page. If your in Atlanta, be sure to sign up too so you know about all the fab events going on!!!
**UPDATE** 7/15/2011…. Be sure to head over to Bloggers Do It Better to see how others styled the Maxi Skirt!!
Hey dolls… and gents too! This is a bit unusual for me, because I usually do not do any outfit posts on a Saturday. But change is good, right? LOL I wore this outfit actually about a month ago… I know I know, I have a habit of having pictures in my archives that I never post. I need to get better with that. But you know the saying… Better Late than NEVER! hahaha This is actually a maxi dress that I purchased a few years back at Old Navy. I love it because its versatile. I can dress it up or down. Here I wore it as a maxi skirt. I paired it with a bright pink colored tank that I got from H&M and belted it, so no one could actually tell it was a dress. You like? I carried my $.50 thrifted straw clutch too that so many of you love love love!!! You wouldn’t have even known I paid $.50 for it, huh??? If your not thrifting ladies, you don’t know what your missing.

I hope you all had a FAB weekend! I enjoyed time with the family and great friends. Last weekend, I attended FAMU (Florida A&M University) Jazz Brunch with my great friend Felix. I go every year to show my support. (I’m an OSU alumni) The people are great, the food is great, and the young adults that are so blessed to receive scholarships from this University. To see how grateful and humbled they are is the best part for me. Also, to see how happy these young adults are that their hard work has paid off.
I had been on the hunt for a white blazer and I came across one at H&M a couple weeks ago while shopping the Conscious Collection. I bought a lot of items in the collection actually, but the white blazer was by far, my best item purchased.
It seems like I just can’t get out of the 80’s with my shoe count. LOL I bought yet another pair of shoes over the weekend so my count goes up AGAIN… *sigh* I have to keep reminding myself that it has only been 2.5 months since the Shoe Challenge began, so I think I’m still ahead of the game. LOL I won’t change my count though until I receive them, as usual.

Hello beautiful people!!! Remember I told you I attended a FAB event last week that consisted of some GORGEOUS accessories? Wait until you see all of my faves. I had the pleasure of attending STYLE ENVY with Adrienne of Sadiddy Magazine, Jai of The Bare Skinny, and Eboni of Fashionista Next Door at Seven74 Accessories. I was going to wear something totally different but opted for this cute jumper from H&M that you may remember I showed on in my video haul here. Isn’t it adorable? I added a belt because I felt it was a little too casual, so I wanted to dress it up a bit but not too much. I wore my coral KAYLAS again. ( I so love these shoes…well I love ALL my shoes! LOL) You may remember I debuted them first here. They were such a huge hit and sold out so fast, that Sole Society decided to bring them BACK! You may still have a chance to snag you up a pair if you hurry!!!!

It was like HEAVEN stepping into Seven 74. All kinds of FAB jewelry at every angle. It was like being like a kid in the candy store. Check out some of the awesome jewelry. I tried to get the best shots of each piece, but of course, your going to have to stop in and see all the goodies up close and personal. If your not in the Atlanta area, then you want to make it a point to plan a vacation here and soon!! LOL LOL
The owner, Kash Howard, is a total sweetheart and the ladies that helped us while we were shopping were such dolls!

These are all my faves!! Isn’t everything so FABULOUS!!!!!!!!
This necklace was my fave by far. I should have purchased it. I’m going to have to stop back by to get it. Now to cross my fingers and hope it is still there!!!!!
These are the two items that I did purchase. The total I spent for both pieces… $68.00! SCORE!!!!!!!!!!
It’s that time again… Everybody Everywear. I always look forward to participating and seeing all the FAB ways other fashion lovers have styled different items. The item for the month of April is THE MAXI. I love Maxi’s. They are just so comfy. You can dress them up with pumps or dress them down with a pair of flip flops. I have so many Maxi’s (8 to be exact) and it took quite awhile for me to decide which Maxi I was going to rock. I wear my Maxi so many different ways. I might wear one as a swimsuit coverup, or for dinner with the hubby on a Summer night. There is really no wrong way to wear a Maxi. I decided to rock this BCBGMAXAZRIA Maxi that I purchased years ago from TJ Maxx. I bought this fedora a couple weeks ago from Target and I thought it would go perfectly. I had a lot of fun doing this photoshoot!!! Can you tell? LOL
Don’t forget to check out Everybody Everywear to see all the other FAB stylish ideas featuring The Maxi.
I hope everyone had a Happy Monday!! If you are a frequent reader, you remember that a couple weeks ago, I was bitten by a dog. It’s still surreal to me, but it indeed happened. This is actually the outfit I had on and was in the park doing my photoshoot for. I can laugh about it now, but at no means was it funny. It was all but funny while I was going through the recovery process. So, let me begin…
I went to the park as I usually do at lunch time. There is usually noone even in the park most days. It’s a very small park and the park hosts a lot of small outdoor weddings because the scenery is just so nice and it has such an intimate setting. Anywho, I was actually done with my photoshoot and carrying my tripod and camera back to my car. I didn’t even think twice as I saw the gentleman walking towards me with his 2 Boston Terriers. I’m by no means afraid of dogs. I grew up with them and love dogs. I’ve had pit bulls (that were such babies and by no means mean at all) and I currently have a 6lb Shih Tzu, so as you can see, I am no stranger to dogs. So the guy walks past me and I say, “Hello” and he speaks back and the next think I know, his dog jumps on my leg and attacks me. I’m like, “What the hell? Your damn dog just bit me?” LOL Those were my exact words!!!! LOL I was just so shocked, because I have NEVER EVER EVER had this happen to me in my life. LOL (well… when I was younger a dog tried to bite me in my butt..LOL But thats another story for another day LOL LOL). The guy looks at me and says, “I’m sorry.” But his attitude was just like, what do you want me to do. He wasn’t as apologetic as he could have been. You know? So I say I need to get his information, he’s not cooperative. He was an elderly gentleman so I didn’t argue with him.. I was raised to treat my elders with respect. LOL So I just wrote down his license plate number. I drove back to work and immediately called the police. So the police comes out, takes my report and tells me I have to call Animal Control. I call Animal Control and they tell me because the bite happened in one county and I live in another county, I had to come into the location so they could verify the bite. So I drive to Animal Control and file a report with them. They tell me they will quarantine the dog for 10 days to be sure the dog doesn’t have Rabbies. They told me that they hadn’t had a Rabbies case in the state of GA in over 5 years. So that made me feel pretty good but I still thought to myself, I had the bad luck to get bitm it would be just my luck that this dog would have Rabbies, so I was still worried. I went to my Dr. and she checked out the bite and told me I had an infection and then I had to get on antibiotics. I also had to get a Tetnas shot in my arm that left my arm sore for 3 days. Then the antibiotics that I was on, had side effects and would you know, I experienced 95% of the side effects. I don’t know what was worse, the dog bite or the side effects from the antibiotic. Uggghhhh But today I can say I am back to 100% and you wouldn’t even have known I was bit by a dog if I didn’t tell you. LOL I know for sure, that was a day that I will never forget. I still have a love for dogs, but I will say… when it comes to Boston Terriers, I will be a little bit more reserved and give them that ::side eye:: and one better not come near me! LOL
So I bought 2 more shoes this weekend so my shoe count total is now up to 94. So I’ve been knocked back a few and have 82 more to go. I also actually bought 2 more pair online but I haven’t received those yet so I won’t count them until I physically have them!!! WOW! I guess you can call me a SHOEAHOLIC as well as a SHOPAHOLIC! hahahahahaha If you’d like, you can still participate in the challenge. You just will have a late start but will still have to wear all your shoes by February 14, 2012.
As you can tell I was having such a good time with this shoot too! LOL Oh yeah, the dog tore my pants too… I might have been more worried about my pants than my leg. LOL LOL
TGIF!!!!! Well not quite, but almost! LOL I’m excited because next week is SPRING BREAK!! WoooHooo! I’m glad I’m feeling a lot better and I’m finally adjusting to the medication after almost a week. Glad I take the last pill on Monday! I am happy about that!!! The dog that bit me is currently in quarantine so it can be monitored to be sure it did not have Rabbies. Animal Control did call me today and said the dog was current on its shots so I don’t think I’ll have any issues in that area. I still have a love for dogs, I’m just trying to turn such a negative situation into a positive one. One bad dog won’t spoil it for the others. ::smiles::
This is another late photo post (don’t judge me LOL!!!) Better late than never, right? I wore this last week when we had 80 degree weather and tons of sunshine. I can’t say that we are STILL getting that weather because its been in the 50’s and rainy every single day this week.
I loved this top so much when I saw it at H&M that I just had to have it. I even got it in a size too big but it totally still worked. I just put a skinny belt with it (and you know how I love to belt things) and topped it off with a black blazer and it totally worked. For those of you who follow “fashion rules” you can go ahead and break out the white pants! You know I break all rules and believe you can wear white whenever you want. Speaking of white… I’m on the hunt for a white blazer! I just gotta have one in my life for Spring/Summer.
I finally hit shoe #10 for the Shoeper Shoe Challenge (SSC) that I am participating in. WoooHooo!!! Now I only have 82 more pair to go….still a ways to go but 10 is good so far, right? LOL My shoe count has gone up because I have gotten 2 pairs of new shoes since I started the challenge in February.
This is going to be a really short post. I’m feeling a little under the weather… You see, I was bitten by a dog on Friday while I was in the park doing my photoshoot. I’ll explain more in detail when I post that outfit and what a story do I have to tell. To sum it up, I had to call the police to get the dog owners info and file a report, then had to go to Animal Control to be sure the dog is up to date on shots, etc, etc. I had to get a tetanus shot booster since I hadn’t had one within the past 10 years and I am now on antibiotics because of an infection in my leg where the dog bit me. So it apparently wasn’t only a mean dog, but a dirty nasty dog too! LOL The PITS, I know! So you can only imagine, I am HOT at this guy and especially this dog. LOL But I’ve had some serious side effects from the shot and antibiotics, so that’s the main reason I’m not feeling too well. Hubby has been awesome and so sweet in taking good care of me!!!
This outfit is an old outfit I wore a couple weeks ago but I thought it was fitting to post today since we have been getting some horrible, rainy, gloomy weather. I guess its payback from all the 80 degree weather we had a couple weeks ago when all other states were having COLD and ICEY weather. LOL Remember, you can always look stylish even on those rainy, gloomy days. Rain Boots are an accessory and are oh so HAUTE!!!
3/31/11 UPDATE – These are #11 of my Shoeper Shoe Challenge. I don’t know how I forgot to count them. LOL
WOW! What a beautiful day today was. It hit 88 degrees here in Atlanta. I hate to keep telling you how nice it is here because I know there are places that are still getting ice, snow or cold weather. Sorry! I just LOVE the sun so much it just makes me so happy and it feels so good. No, seriously, I REALLY love the sun. LOL Call me a weirdo, but if you know me, then you know I love the sun, sorta like a fat kid loves cake! AND I am dead serious. You’ll learn to find out there are some weird things about me. 3 words… the sun, fresh tar, and gasoline. I’ve already told you about the sun, one day I will share with you my obsession with fresh tar and gasoline. LOL That’s another topic for another day! Ha Ha
This is one of the jumpsuits that I bought at H&M over the weekend and I absolutely love it on. I opted to wear it with pumps today. I also had on a black blazer but I didn’t wear it in any of my shots because it was just too darn HOT outside. I even slipped off my pumps and walked around barefoot in the grass. I so enjoyed today. It’s the small things in life that satisfy me and walking barefoot with the grass between my toes and the sun beating on my skin, was just heaven to me!!!!
P.S. I totally forgot! You all know I am participating in the Shoeper Shoe Challenge, well I’ve added a new pair of shoes to my collection so my shoe count now goes to 91. Whew!! I still got a lot of shoe wearing to do. These don’t count in these shots because they’ve already been saved!!
Today was another FAB day! We hit the 8o’s again, so I think it is safe to say that SPRING HAS SPRUNG! If that is even a phrase. LOL I got this dress a couple years ago from Charlotte Russe. I love it because its so light and flowey. Not to mention its Springy too. It gets chilly in the office, so I always wear a jacket or have one with me at all times. I always get cold. I also finally did another FAB Finds video. Aren’t you all so proud of me? When I first launched the blog, in November, I was all gung ho on how I was going to do FAB Finds every week. Well that got real old…as shopping can get a bit expensive and I didn’t always go every week. LOL But I’m going to promise to do more videos. I’d actually say that I enjoy doing videos a little better than doing photo shoots. What do you think…video’s or photo’s???
And here is my haul from H&M. Found some really good stuff!

It was such a beautiful day on Saturday. I think it hit 85 degrees. I hung out with my 16 year old daughter all day. We had sushi at STRIP and then did some shopping at H&M. Yep, you heard me right..LOL! We did some SHOPPING! A little bit of retail therapy. So you know, I have LOST the bet I had with hubby. Oh well… it was SO worth it because I found some great Spring items. I found 2 dresses and a blouse and my daughter found a really cute bag and some T-shirts. We’re supposed to have nice weather all this week, so maybe I will get to wear an item or two this week.
This sequin top may look familiar to you. I also wore it HERE on NYE when hubby and I went to an 80’s themed party. Then, I paired it with shiny leggings and leg warmers. This look I went a little bit more comfy and cute…You got it, the 2 C’s. LOL LOL (What are the 2 C’s you ask? If you don’t frequent my blog, that’s my fave thing…to be CUTE and COMFY. Very important! LOL) Every time I slip into this tank, I just wanna have FUN! FUN! FUN! Can you tell by the pictures that I just had too much fun posing and playing around with the camera. I didn’t want to go too SUMMER mode for my shoes (wearing flip flops, etc.) After all, its not Summer just yet, so I opted for an open toed/heeled booties courtesy of Just Fab!
