Back to School

September 11, 2012

Hi loves!  How has your week been going so far?  It’s been going great for me.  I am finally able to catch up on all my favorite blogs, I am so behind and still have a lot to catch up on.  So the kids started back to school a few weeks ago.  My daughter is a Senior this year… Woooo Hooo!  That means Prom, Sr Pictures, Sr Dues, etc etc.  She’s already been online searching for Prom dresses.  LOL

Colored denim is still a huge trend as well as printed denim.  I was on the hunt for leopard pants and finally came across a pair today online and orders those babies asap!!!  This is going to be a quickie post because its almost time for me to nurse my guy.

How fabulous is this disco ball rose gold plated necklace?  Isn’t it GORGE?!?!?  I wore it and received so many compliments.  If interested, you can purchase it here.

I wore this outfit for a ladies night out with my mom and some other ladies from my mom’s congregation.  It was fun and the food was so good.  We all went to Bonefish restaurant.  I never been, but was very happy with the menu choice,  I ordered a special dish on the menu and it wasn’t really good but the chocolate brownie dessert I ordered, made up for it!   I toned down the colored denim by going neutral on top.  Unless you are going to do color-blocking, you should go neutral on pieces that you are pairing with the colored denim.  Ok, baby is calling for mommy… gotta run.

Here is a quick photo of my guy… he was ready for bed while I was heading out.  Isn’t he just tooo cute?!?!?!  LOL

P.S.  I’ve linked up with Everybody Everywear… Be sure to head over to check out the other Back To School looks!!!

Are you still rocking colored denim??

EBEW: April Showers Bring May Florals

May 10, 2011

Target – Xhilaration Ruffle Floral Dress $24.99│Thrifted – boyfriend blazer│H&M – earrings & assorted bracelets│Anne Klein – watch $95│KLS – peep toe ankle booties│sunglasses – cheapo’s from a Beauty Supply store $3

Today over at EBEW ( Everybody Everywear) it’s all about Florals.  Florals is another big trend for Spring/Summer 2011.  You can’t go wrong at all with this trend.  As you all know, Rih Rih is my style icon (how ironic EBEW showed this look as an example too) and I love how she paired her floral sundress with over sized sunglasses and Miu Miu open toe boots back in 2009.  It makes the whole outfit look not so soft… but hard.  That’s is what I LOVE so much about this look!

I recreated Rihanna’s look with this floral ruffled dress that I bought from Tar-jay about a month or two ago with these KLS peep toe ankle booties, these sunnies that I bought from a Beauty Supply store for $3.  I liked the rhinestones on the side of the glasses, that’s why I bought them.  I threw on a boyfriend blazer to make the outfit more “office” friendly.  But as you can see, this outfit easily goes from the office, to out for drinks with the girls.  If you don’t want to rock the peep toe booties and soften the look, throw on some pumps or some sandals to make it a little more casual.  It’s so many great things you can do with floral dresses.  So throw on those florals ladies, don’t be shy!!

Don’t forget to also head over to EBEW to see how others styled their FLORALS!

the maxi

It’s that time again… Everybody Everywear.  I always look forward to participating and seeing all the FAB ways other fashion lovers have styled different items.  The item for the month of April is THE MAXI.  I love Maxi’s.  They are just so comfy.  You can dress them up with pumps or dress them down with a pair of flip flops.  I have so many Maxi’s (8 to be exact) and it took quite awhile for me to decide which Maxi I was going to rock.   I wear my Maxi so many different ways.  I might wear one as a swimsuit coverup, or for dinner with the hubby on a Summer night.  There is really no wrong way to wear a Maxi.  I decided to rock this BCBGMAXAZRIA Maxi that I purchased years ago from TJ Maxx.  I bought this fedora a couple weeks ago from Target and I thought it would go perfectly.  I had a lot of fun doing this photoshoot!!!  Can you tell?  LOL

the classic blazer

February 8, 2011

Have you heard of Everybody, Everywear?    If you haven’t, be sure to head on over and check it out.  The Classic Blazer is the “it” for today.   Check out the website to see how many of us blogin-ista’s have styled the blazer.

I have so many blazers in all shapes in sizes.  Cropped, boyfriend, colored, military… I could go on and on.  i get a lot of my blazers at Thrift stores, believe it or not.  There are tons of FAB blazers that are at Thrift stores and they are only like $5.00.  That’s why I have so many.  You can never have too many blazers.  I think its another must have item for your closet!

Today I decided to wear this grape colored polyester blazer that I bought from Talbot’s a while back with a maxi dress.  I completed the look with my Michael Kors wrap belt that you can find here.  It’s originally $45 but I bought mine at Marshall’s for $15.00 (a great steal)! It’s reversible, so thats what made me buy it…  2 belts in 1.  Don’t be afraid to “spruce” up your blazer with a skinny belt and/or an infinity scarf.  Don’t be afraid to add accessories!!
